About a two years later as this pellet stove is rarely used it stopped working properly.
Pellet stove thermocouple problems.
After some troubleshooting i found that the thermocouple cover was missing which caused the thermocouple to burn.
Try this before blaming the thermocouple the pilot flame must be big and hot enough to heat the thermocouple to the temperature it needs to generate enough voltage to signal the gas valve.
Stove shuts off unexpectedly.
The product was easy to install and so far we have had no further problems.
I purchased this thermocouple and the cover and all is working well.
This product can be twice this price on other sites and ever more from a service tech so i was thrilled to find if for this price.
The likely problem again is an obstruction in the pilot tube.
Sometimes the problem is simply that the thermocouple probe is too far from the flame.
Our quadrafire contour pellet stove stopped lighting so i diagnosed the problem and came to the conclusion that i needed a new thermocouple.
If the pellet stove is not burning efficiently or producing suitable quantities of heat the problem could be a result of air leaks through the door seals.
Take a look at the door seal and make sure it closes with a perfect fit to eliminate air leaks.
