If the inner handle isn t placed properly and fit exactly into place it will also create problems and fail to open even if the inner door clip is not broken. If the set screw on the handle is stripped and difficult to tighten replace it with a new one. When you turn the knob or handle the spring should compress and open the lock allowing you to open your door. In many cases the door handle feels loose and seems like nothing in the door moves.

Using a screwdriver open the cover. Remove inside handle bezel. Lubricating the door latch is one of the ways in which doors that won t open from the inside or the outside can be fixed. If this is the problem clean the paint off.

Take the handles knobs off of the door. Lubricate the assembly and move again. However a spinning knob or handle means something is wrong with your. Paint on the edge of the door sometimes prevents the barrel from retracting.

Check to make sure the handle is not broken. Begin by checking the keyway for blockage. This is usually only on one side either the inside handle won t open the door or the outside handle won t open the door but the other one will work fine. To fix the door knob figure out where the connections have gone awry.

If you have the tools and skills you need to take the panel out from the doors inside so you can get access to the mechanical elements of the car door. If so the inside release handle has to be reinserted properly or the door will not open. If the cable or rod that connects the door handle to the latch assembly is damaged or has come loose the door will not open. Some models have handles that have no screw but are held on by locks which are disengaged by sliding the bezel either forward or back.
