When you replace it you will need either a commercial rivet gun and large rivets like the factory used.

There should be a cable or rod attached to the handle.
Look for the set screw on neck of the knob between the handle and door.

Look for a screw in the bezel under the handle lever.

Remove these screws unscrew one side of the door knob and pull the door handle and lock assembly out of the door.
You ll need to take the inside of the door off not too hard but go slow and gentle so you don t break something and then find and re attach the rod.

Take the handles knobs off of the door.
See if this retracts the handle.
Examine the door closely.
Make sure it is not placed beyond the latching mechanism.
If the malfunctioning lock is in the door handle there will be at least two screws securing the door handle to the door.
If it does give it a firm push from the inside of your car.
If the bolt moves but not enough to allow the door to open the mechanism probably needs lubrication.
Remove the inner door handle.
Or replace the rivets with a nut bolt.
Seat belt problems may also cause your door not to open from the inside especially if it s not completely retracted.
That s probably slipped off the handle.
Some models have handles that have no screw but are held on by locks which are disengaged by sliding the bezel either forward or back.
Locate the screws holding the lock in place on the inside of the door.
Remove the old lock.
Remove the handles including the thru spindle.
Check to make sure the handle is not broken.
Use a tool a flathead screwdriver will work to twist within the gap the thru spindle inserts into.
